PASA is the payment system management body recognised by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), in terms of the National Payment System Act of 1998, to organise, manage and regulate the participation of its members in the payment system.
PASA plays a critical role in the South African payments industry, adding value by managing its Members’ activities in the national payment system from a strategic, operational and delivery perspective.
PASA further assists the SARB in discharging its responsibilities regarding the regulation and supervision of payment, clearing and settlement systems. PASA aims to support and act in the best interests of the national payment system and its Members whose contributions fund PASA’s activities.
